In brief

All our corona tests are administered through a nasopharyngeal swab, often a long cotton swab that takes a sample from the patient through the nostril.

The preparation of the collected sample and its analysis differs per test. You will receive a certified result by e-mail with each test. Below is an overview of the tests used, their characteristics and specifications. You will receive a certified result by e-mail with each test. Below is an overview of the tests used, their characteristics and specifications.

All tests used are reliable and safe for all ages. When children younger than 12 years are being tested, we use a different method: the swab is shorter and is therefore inserted less deeply in both nostrils. This makes for a less invasive and unpleasant feeling for the child, while still providing a reliable result.

PCR Rapid Test

  • SARS-CoV-2 RNA Rapid PCR Test

  • Abbott

  • Analysis: 1 hour

  • During the analysis, genetic material from the virus is replicated repeatedly. That means that the PCR test also detects the virus in someone who is not carrying much of the virus. Analysis is performed by an accredited Abbott ID NOW-platform. In case of a negative test result, you receive a certificate for international travel purposes.

Rapid Antigen Test

  • SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test

  • Roche Diagnostics

  • Analysis: 15 minutes

  • A reliable, rapid chromatopgraphic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific antigens of SARS-CoV-2 present in the human nasopharynx. De SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test allows for quick decision-making in order to keep a patient in quarantine so as to limit the risk of further contamination.

Negative antigen test results are often required in addition to an admission ticket for activities and events in the cultural, entertainment and hospitality sector i.e. musea, cinemas, outdoor events, etc. You receive the result by e-mail. Show the result at the entrance as proof you have been tested negative for COVID-19.

Children up till age 12

  • PCR & Antigen Rapid Test possible

  • Child-friendly sampling: less invasive procedure

  • Children’s nasal cavities are less developed than adults’, which makes taking a proper sample hard, as well as very invasive and unpleasant for the child. For this reason, we offer a special sampling method for young children: a shorter swab through both nostrils, without going through the nasal cavity. This method and subsequent analysis guarantees a similar reliability, with minimal hinder for the children during testing.

Characteristics Abbott SARS-CoV-2 RNA Rapid PCR Test

The PCR Rapid Test is sampled with a nasopharyngeal swab and analysed with Abbott’s ID NOW-Platform. ID NOW COVID-19 is a rapid molecular in vitro diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 in direct nasopharyngeal swabs. It is an automated isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA.

To perform the assay, the Sample Receiver and Test Base are inserted into the ID NOW Instrument. The sample is added to the Sample Receiver and transferred via the Transfer Cartridge to the Test Base, initiating target amplification. Heating, mixing and detection are provided by the instrument.

Characteristics SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test

The SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test is a reliable, rapid chromatopgraphic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific antigens of SARS-CoV-2 present in the human nasopharynx. This test is an aid in detecting antigen from the SARS-CoV-2 virus in individuals suspected of COVID-19. Similar to laboratory instruments, it detects a SARS-CoV-2 antigen, the nucleoprotein. It can therefore be used to assess whether a person is infected with SARS-CoV-2 by providing a qualitative result showing coloured bands indicating the presence of SARS-CoV-2 antigens.

De SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test allows for quick decision-making in order to keep a patient in quarantine so as to limit the risk of further contamination. The test is intended for use in Point of Care settings for symptomatic, as well as asymptomatic patients. The SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test enables fast decision making e.g. whether patients need to be put in quarantine, reducing the risk of further spreading. In addition to that it allows for screening of individuals after confirmed exposure to a SARS-CoV-2 infected person or individuals at risk of exposure such as healthcare workers.
